When Studios want to see if you are right for a series or big budget film, they do A Screen Test, with professional lighting and sound.
If you don't have great looking footage that really showcases what you're capable of, if your reel is dated or your roles speak of a type that is not right for this project, it's unlikely Casting (or the Studio) will give you the chance to prove yourself.

Matt Draper is the founder and owner of SpeedReels.com. Started in 2004 it completely revolutionized the way demo reels were edited and viewed. Since then Matt has put thousands of actors on tape, helping many of them book roles in major film and television roles. Matt has written and directed two short films, The Addict & Bad Hair Day, which were selected to major film festivals including the New York Film Festival, The Seattle International Film Festival and the Montreal Film Festival.
